Cliff is an experienced producer and director with many credits to his name, and an accomplished travel writer- photojournalist. Cliff’s hobbies?....well….... Outdoor stuff, of course!

Bo Dreisig

Bo has over 25 years’ experience as a cameraman and has worked with us on all manner of productions including corporate promos, indigenous programming, natural history documentaries and more. Bo operates a range of high-end HD equipment and has extensive lighting expertise. Bo has worked with National Geographic and Discovery Channel, just to name a few, and is always full of enthusiasm for both his work and the great outdoors.

Richard Fitzpatrick
Cinematographer – Producer – Marine Biologist
Richard is our principal underwater camera operator and has a wealth of experience with filming high-end broadcast productions. He has credits in over 50 documentaries with 7, 9, ABC, Discovery, National Geographic, BBC, Impossible Pictures, NHK, TBS, ZDF, ARD, France 5 and many others. Richard has a number of filming awards including an Emmy nomination in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2011 and yet he still regards diving as a hobby as well as work. Does he ever sleep? Not a lot – he is always working!!

Brett Shorthouse
Producer - Director
An experienced producer, Brett has worked on many broadcast productions in Australia and around the world. Clients and associates include channels 7, 9, ABC, Discovery, National Geographic, BBC and more. Over a 20 year period he has also produced and overseen a broad variety of non-broadcast corporate communications and DVD/multi-media productions for numerous government departments, private and public companies. Most of these have specialized in effective communications for specific target audience groups. His hobbies include boating, camping, renovations and woodwork…. Oh… and walking the dog!

Russell Kelley

Wade Fairley
 
Cameraman and director with over 2 decades of experience in high-end broadcast media. Wade has filmed on every continent in just about every environment ranging from wintering in Antarctica for the BBC’s ground breaking series Planet Earth – through to his current projects in tropical Melanesia. A multi award winning cameraman (inc 2 Emmys) versed in all mediums from large format film to the latest digital HD. Wade’s most recent projects and focus are environmental education media in the Solomon Islands and PNG. He resides between those countries and Australia.

Dr Simon Foale
Writer, Science & Anthropology Consultant, Project Leader
Simon is an academic in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at James Cook University. His original training is in marine biology and fisheries science but he now teaches anthropology, a career trajectory that is really the product of having a strong interest in culturally and economically appropriate fishery management solutions, particularly in the developing economies of Melanesia and the Pacific Islands. Simon has worked for governments, NGOs and the private sector on a wide variety of environmental management and economic development projects. Outside pursuits - photography, gardening, diving and food.

Marie Roman
Production Co-ordinator – Avid editor
As a marine biologist turned science communicator, Marie draws on her experiences from around the world in conservation projects as well as environmental video production. From filming otters in Brazil and offline editing work for the CBBC's children series Barney's Barrier Reef, through to project managing corporate productions for marine agencies in North Queensland, Marie is right at home with her line of work and has an unbounded passion for the natural world.
